Why should I write?

Every person has a story worth telling, and we want to help you tell yours. Your story will be edited by the best editors in the industry and published in beautiful formats all across the web. It will be read by the millions of readers that visit akkarbakkar.com every month.

What should I write about?

Entirely up to you. If you're looking for ideas, we recommend thinking about experiences that you've lived through that you want to share with the world. There are no restrictions.

Can I be anonymous?

Absolutely. When submitting the story through the form or through the backend, please check the "Publish as Anonymous" checkbox. If you want to be notified when your anonymous story gets published, please leave your email address. Your email address and other identifying information will not be disclosed.

Do you publish every story you get?

We try to, but due to the volume of stories, we are sometimes not able to. If you've submitted through the backend, you'll receive comments from the Editor if the story is rejected. Your chances of getting published go up dramatically if you proof read your story and give a tentative title.

Is there any word limit?

No.

Can I write in Hindi?

We currently only support English. We'll recommend translating your works into English. We'll fix any grammatical mistakes. In the future we may support Hindi and other languages.

When will my story be published?

It can take 2 to 3 weeks. Some stories are time-sensitive and we may prioritize them.

How will I know my story is published?

If you've given us an email address, we'll email you with a link to the story.

When will my story be shared on Facebook after being published?

Usually within 48 hours.

I'm not a good writer, can you call me on xxxxxxxxxx so that I can narrate my story?

We encourage you to write your story and send it to us anyway. All mistakes will be caught during the editorial process and fixed.

How can I become a paid freelancer?

We're currently not hiring writers. However, if you're interested in editing, please apply here.

How can I get in touch with an author?

If the author chose not to be anonymous, you can contact them through their social handles in their profile (if available). If they're anonymous or haven't updated their social handles, you can send an email to hello@akkarbakkar.com with a message for the author. We'll try to pass it on and if they're interested, they'll contact you back.
